Well you sound like you are in canada the way you spell cheque. Open a bank account. Even a saving account, I don’t care how young you are. I had a saving account when I was 11, for my paper route. With an account you can deposit the check, then allow it to go through the system which will take 2 to 4 days. That is the only way. You must deposit the check.

What kind of savings account should I open?

Question by keystone3pl: What kind of savings account should I open?
I don’t know much about the different types of savings account available to me. I am 23 yrs old and make about 00/month. I’d like to start contributing a small portion of my weekly paychecks into some sort of savings account that will ideally grow into a decent amount over the course of several years. What are my options?

Where do you have your checking account?
Open a savings at the same bank and tie the two accounts together.

Once you get a couple of thousand gathered up – consider opening one of those high interest online savings account.
But only if it’s money that you know you will not need on a monthly basis.
