Question by Kira-Lee Kimber: Can you download Microsoft 7 home premium from the Microsoft website and just install it from there?
I have a samsung NC20 Notebook PC and it’s running on Windows XP, I want to upgrade it to Windows 7 Home Premium. But it doesn’t have a CD slot. Could I just purchase and download it from the Microsoft website? And then just install it from there? Will it work with my laptop? Thanks.

Yes , you can download windows 7 home premium after buying it online, they’ll also ship the original dvd to you if you purchase online. But make sure that you use any of the download programs so that you can pause and resume download because they’ll be a few GBs of size. I think microsoft itself provide download managers. In short the answer is “YES”

And about compatibility, the minimum requirements is:
1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, at least a 20 GB partition on which the windows will be installed

I don’t think you can, unless you have a PayPal debit/credit outside of the internet, but most online stores now have where you can check out with PayPal. That is the only way I know how. I had that issue, but I signed up for their debit card.
