Open Question: this is sms this is not a sales call? who are these guys?

I keep getting calls from some company that shows up on my id as”Toll free call”, When I pick up a machine answers ” This is sms, this is not a sales call. If you would like to speak to a Representative please press 1, if not then we will disconnect now.” I press 1 and a lady picks up and asks me who I am. I asked her who she is and she wanted my personal info to verify who I was. I said no, and she said “ok thats fine we will call again”, and then she hung up.
Its starting to piss me off… Does anyone know who these people are?
